On the scale of the city, using the discontinuity and fragmentation of the location as its greatest potential, the project deals with creating a new cultural and historical focal point, using paths and public spaces to bind the fragments together and interlace them with their surroundings.
At the scale of architecture, the museum becomes a spatial loophole moving the visitor between the fragments of the Venetian Republic, Rome and Austro-Hungary, then back from the crevice of the Venetian fortress, down the Roman amphitheatre and over the Roman villa, along the remains of the Roman wall back to the Twin Gates and the entrance to the Austro-Hungarian tunels.
